4 steps from a contaminated site to usable soil

At the start of any inquiry, certain basic questions should be clarified. These include, on the one hand, the “actual state” of the contaminated sites on the basis of an expert opinion.

After examination of the inquiry and the soil samples, adapted solution concepts are worked out. You will receive a proposal (remediation plan) from us.

 

 

 

Decision & Preparation

Depending on the possibilities, financing options and subsidies can now be worked out and applied for.

 

 

Processing & Usage

As soon as the financing and funding possibilities are regulated, the work will be started. The newly won ground can now be used profitably.

Comparing different methods of soil remediation, bioremediation “in situ” is much more profitable and safe. Considering diffuse pollution such as pesticides used in agriculture on large areas, there is no comparable alternative to bioremediation. In the case of pollution by oil and oil products, as well as in many other cases, the same is true. Furthermore, bioremediation is extremely effective in the development of the pathogenic environment on landfills.

Already since 2009 we have proven our competences on the market. We would like to present you some of our projects to give you a small impression of the possibilities.

Deploying our “Volumetric Bioremediation” technology, we rehabilitated an area of 860,000 m3 in only 120 days that was a former dump for consumer waste and chemicals. Subsequently, a football stadium “Baltic Arena” known today as “PGE Arena” was built with a capacity of 44,000 people and cost of 200 million US dollars. Our scientists received certificates and letters of gratitude.

We removed and disinfected toxic burial grounds on 4 private farms. Works of increased complexity were carried out. These areas can now even be used for agricultural purposes.

A 30-year-old landfill with a volume of 670,000 m3 was decontaminated in 120 days, and a park was then be created on the site. Our scientists have been awarded diplomas and the local authorities thanked us. An original television report is documented on our website.

What comes after that?

Once bioremediation has eliminated all hazardous pollutants and biological hazards in the soil and underlying groundwater, now comes the mechanical cleaning of the soil.

Step 1

Sorting of the garbage in the ground

In the landfill area, the waste materials are sorted from the soil.

Step 2

Particle size reduction & conversion

The plastic and separately the heavy metals are crushed, cleaned and decomposed in a closed environment.

Step 3

Sale/transportation of the raw material

After recycling, the resulting raw materials are marketed and shipped.

When it comes to landfill remediation, toxins are not the only contaminants. Plastics are also a financial and environmental hurdle to overcome.
